Elizabeth Okinda

Elizabeth Okinda is a solicitor of England and Wales with over a decade’s experience in public law, safeguarding, education law and regulatory advisory work, built inside local authority legal services in London. She joins Wakiaga & Company Advocates & Advisory as Consultant Senior Associate, bringing that expertise into the firm’s advisory practice while she undertakes pupillage toward admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

Her work at the firm centres on the matters that increasingly sit across both jurisdictions — diaspora clients navigating property, succession and family matters with a foreign element; Kenyan and international businesses requiring immigration and visa advisory; and international schools seeking safeguarding and governance frameworks aligned to UK standards. Family Law — succession, matrimonial property and guardianship matters, including the Kenyan-law dimension of cross-border family matters.

Commercial & Contract Advisory — contract drafting and review, commercial structuring, and advisory support for owner-managed businesses and diaspora investors.

International Schools Advisory — safeguarding policy, governance review and inspection-readiness support for Cambridge curriculum schools, and bespoke training for school leadership and governing bodies.

Institutional & Regulatory Advisory — strategic guidance for individuals and institutions engaging with public authorities and regulatory frameworks in the UK context.
